Bamboo Nest @ Sanggadee is situated on the bucolic outskirts of Thailand’s Rose of the North, Chiang Mai. We believe we have created a warm and inviting home-from-home, where visitors and guests are introduced to the Lanna, Shan and Inthar cultures that are our heritage. These ancient cultures have managed to survive for millennia in the mountains and valleys of the north, and we share the stories of these cultures with our guests through the arts and crafts, music, and the delicious cuisines of our homes. As one of Chiang Mai’s newest eco friendly boutique hotels, Bamboo Nest @ Sanggadee offers comfortable accommodation in keeping with a desire to advocate the values of sustainable community-based tourism.

As stakeholders in the community behind Bamboo Nest, and the neighbouring SangGaDee Community Market, the Bamboo Family are wholly committed to sustainable and responsible construction and have repurposed and utilized local materials throughout this unique boutique resort in Chiang Mai; including bamboo, a strong, versatile and, most importantly, sustainable material that has been used throughout Thailand as a vital building material since time immemorial.

Guests can choose to stay at the boutique resort Chiang Mai in one of eight comfortable ‘Nests’ each built from reclaimed and sustainable materials. Each Nest has been created to offer a unique living space, taking its inspiration from an indigenous bird species common to the area. The color scheme of each Nest has been carefully designed to be warm, homely, and welcoming, the interiors complemented by organic cotton and hand embroidered bed sheets and soft furnishings, and each piece of furniture has been crafted locally by our team of skilled artisans. Built over two floors, there is plenty of room in each Nest for up to two adults and a child (an extra bed can be provided on request). Our Nests (guestrooms) on the ground-floor also enjoy a spacious private terrace on which to relax and enjoy the sounds and the sights of the well-kept gardens. Perhaps try to spot the namesake bird of your guestroom while relaxing with a fresh-made coffee or beverage of your choice. A more commanding view of our unique boutique hotel in Chiangmai’s grounds is available from the guestrooms, or nests, that are located on the upper floor. A large double bed ensures a comfortable night’s sleep, and there is also the option of asking for twin single beds if needed. Each Nest comes with a spacious en suite bathroom and refreshing walk-in rain shower.
Tucked between the nests are a comfortable communal lounge and a well-equipped kitchen and pantry, which visitors to our Chiang Mai boutique hotel, in the spirit of community that is the core ethos behind Bamboo Nest @ Sanggadee, are encouraged to share while swapping stories, ideas and making new friends with your fellow guests. Guestrooms at Bamboo Nest @ Sanggadee – The Nests (8 rooms)
Our eight cozy Nests, our guests-rooms, have each been named after a local bird and set across two floors of two buildings. At an approximate room size of 20 sqm, they comfortably accommodate up to two guests or a maximum of two adults and one child (with an extra bed, available for an additional charge). The 4 Nests located on the ground-floor feature private terraces, while the 4 Nests on the first floor offer elevated views of the lush gardens and the surrounding trees and verdant grounds of Bamboo Nest @ Sanggadee.
Each room is equipped with a large double bed, which can be converted into two twin single beds upon request, and a private en-suite bathroom with a walk-in rain shower. Every Nest boasts a unique design that has been inspired by its namesake bird, with distinct color schemes and artisan decor that create a warm, inviting, and homely atmosphere. Guests can also enjoy a shared lounge and kitchen area that is located between the Nests on the ground-floor of each building, with this bright, inviting and open-air shared space fostering a sense of community as well as offering a comfortable space for guests at BambooNest@Sanggadee to relax and connect.
